TK-World invests in DeepTech start-up QuSine GmbH

QuSine - investing in the future. TK-World AG acquires a stake in QuSine GmbH, a high-tech spin-off of the University of Paderborn.

Significance for TK-World & strategic fit

With our investment in QuSine (https://www.qusine.com/), we as TK-World AG are strengthening our commitment to future technologies and expanding our portfolio beyond the traditional telecommunications sector. QuSine’s technology opens up new perspectives for next-generation transmission systems – from 6G communication to radar systems and quantum technologies. QuSine thus fits in well with the overarching technological interests of TK-World AG.

“This investment underlines our commitment to actively shaping technological innovations and bringing forward-looking expertise into the company at an early stage,” summarizes CEO Kai-Uwe Flormann.

The investment gives TK-World direct access to DeepTech expertise in its own regional and technological environment and creates synergies between network, communications and radio frequency technologies.

Who is QuSine and what is being developed?

QuSine is a young spin-off from Paderborn University that specializes in the development of high-precision signal synthesizers. At its core, QuSine focuses on opto-electronic technologies for generating ultra-low noise high-frequency and microwave signals. The product range currently includes RF/microwave frequency oscillators with extremely low phase noise in the frequency range from 3 GHz to 60 GHz in 1 GHz steps – even more flexible signal generator models are to follow in the future.

The technology behind QuSine aims to realize signal generators with unprecedented precision. These signals are indispensable for applications such as 6G communication, radar systems, quantum technologies and other high-end fields.

The QuSine team is also impressive: under the leadership of Dr. Peter Hertenstein, it combines sound scientific expertise, entrepreneurial experience and a high level of technical competence.

Research & Partnerships

QuSine recently became part of the Silicon Allee program at the Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute (HHI). This gives the company access to technical expertise, research infrastructure and a strong network within the Fraunhofer ecosystem. The financial support from the HHI also contributes to the long-term stability, scalability and financial security of the technology.

Following the lead investor role in Cellgo GmbH (www.cellgo.de), this is already the second investment outside the internal start-up portfolio of our group of companies.
